USD Increases Club Sport Portfolio
Four new club sports will be added to the program at USD starting in the fall of 2026
The University of South Dakota is excited to announce the addition of four new club sports to its portfolio starting in the fall of 2026, enhancing opportunities for student-athletes and sports enthusiasts on campus.
Beginning in August of 2026, USD will introduce Swimming (Co-Ed), Endurance Sports (Co-Ed), Tennis (Men's & Women's), and Women's Soccer as official club sports. These additions reflect USD's commitment to broadening athletic participation and fostering a vibrant campus community.
Connor Singhisen, Director of Club Sports, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: "We are proud to offer these new sports that provide diverse opportunities for students to compete, stay active, and engage with their peers. Our top-of-the-line facilities at USD will support their development and success, and we are looking forward to developing teams to compete on both the regional and national stage. With the inclusion of these new sports, USD continues to strengthen its club sports program, encouraging student involvement, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles that contribute to higher GPA's and graduation rates. Involvement on campus increases the quality of college experience a student has, and we are excited to support students in their endeavors."
The Women's Soccer club will compete in the Upper Midwest Collegiate Soccer League, Swim will be affiliated with US College Club Swimming, and Tennis will compete in USTA Tennis on Campus. Endurance Sports will serve stduents interested in running, cycling and similar activities. Students interested in joining these new clubs are encouraged to stay tuned for upcoming information on tryouts and registration.
